A new direction - August 8, 2017

Never stop exploring as one of Instagram's hashtags state. Over the last two months I've been in a creative whirlwind questioning how my desire to heal and my desire to create intersect. My conclusion is that writing and photography are fun. Healing has been fun, but it's time for a new direction. I write and make photos to enrich me, create, and bring beauty and inspiration to the world. It does not need to be profound and I don't need to be perfect. So here is some of that desire: My scarf blowing in the wind after an epic 9,000 mile road trip that took me across Alaska, Canada, and the USA. More photos to come soon of my journey into the magic of the wilderness.

Six Show House Concert Series - October 20, 2013

We had a wonderful time playing the six show house concert series in the San Fransisco Bay area. The venues varied from the house next door to the mansion on the hill. Every host was warm and welcoming and the audience was so lovely. We were busy, but it was one of the nicest musical experiences we have had. I think the key key here was intimacy. Here are a couple of photos from the event.

Recording New CD - August 6, 2013

We just began recording our second CD in Eagle River's BANG Studio. Sadly, Sean Cobb, the owner and sound engineer died unexpectedly before much progress was made. Sean was an excellent sound engineer, musician, and all around nice guy. His loss has had a tremendous impact in the community and the world of music. We will miss him. Here is a photo of the studio.

Iceland and Faroe Islands - June 30, 2013

We had a great time playing and singing in the islands. We played at a grotto concert in an outdoor amphitheater in Gjógv, Faroese and sang in a traditional Faroese singing circle. The singing circle is how the Faroese people handed down their traditional stories. We met Lovísa Elísabet Sigrúnardóttir (Lay Low) and band in Reykjavik, Iceland in the studio. She has a wonderful surprise for me coming soon.

Iceland and Faroe Islands - May 10, 2013

We are gearing up for a trip to Iceland and the Faroe Islands. We have two goals in mind; we want to hike and we want to play music. Although we began to book local venues, we thought how wonderful it would be to play at the huts situated along the hiking trails so the music, the hike, and the journey all become part of each other. Perhaps even a song or two will be written along the way.

Our journey will take us to Reykjavik, Selfoss, Hella, Vik, and a four day hike in Landmannalaugar, Iceland. We will also be traveling to and hiking in the Faroe Islands. This journey will take us to Tórshavn, Saksun, Eiði, and Gjógv.

We will take plenty of photos along the way and perhaps a video or two.
